The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 may sticker for around $85,000, but one buyer thought the privilege of owing the very first production C7 Corvette Z06 was worth even more than that. The first 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 just sold at Barrett-Jackson's Palm Beach auction for a cool $1 million, double the price of the first production 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 sold at the same auction.

Equally happy (and perhaps half-a-million richer) is the winning bidder of the first production 2014 Camaro Z/28. After it trumped the Nissan GT-R Track Edition and Porsche 911 Turbo S in a recent comparison test, senior features editor Jonny Lieberman penned a blog stating that the new Camaro Z/28 with its $75,000 sticker doesn't cost enough. The winning bidder, who dropped $500,000 on the Z/28, must've taken Jonny's words to heart. The new 2014 Camaro Z/28 is powered by a hand-built 7.0-liter V-8 churning out 505 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed manual. The Z/28 comes standard with vented-and-drilled carbon-ceramic Brembo brakes, as well as a "flying car" mode.
